Designing, developing, and deploying emails can be a tricky endeavor. You can create the most beautiful email—featuring motion graphics, custom-coded wizardry, and spectacular imagery—but all of these efforts are likely to ensure your email will end up the in the dreaded Gmail Promotions tab. The key is to find a balance, such as ensuring a healthy text-to-code ratio, keeping your image links down to a deliverable size, and delivering quality content that your subscribers actually want to open and interact with.
Celsius employed all of these strategies and more while managing Pittsburgh Technical College’s email platform. Our award-winning campaigns helped increase PTC’s website traffic by 80% from 2018-2019 to 2020-2021. As the lead designer and developer of email creation and deployment, I strove to incorporate their branding into every message while employing all of the best practices to maintain at least a 95% deliverability rate. Between about a dozen monthly push messages to various PTC audiences while supporting the automated workflows, I helped guide their leads through the enrollment funnel as well as cultivated communication to their alumni, staff, and students.
During PTC’s 4th President’s Inauguration Celebration, I worked tirelessly alongside the event organizers to create and deploy emails that looked almost exactly like the formal invitations to be mailed out to recipients directly. These emails were well-received, and the President appreciated the hard work and dedication to the project that Celsius team members demonstrated.
Using innovative HTML solutions and clever coding techniques, Celsius has endeavored to design emails that are beautiful, accessible, and—most important of all—deliverable. Celsius maintains an email delivery success rate of over 95%, leaving no stone unturned in optimizing and maximizing the delivery of messages to their intended audiences.
